To our valued customers:
We have partnered with a nationwide dialup provider to provide you with better, and more, access numbers; as well as a new and improved mail system.
Over these next few days, we need all of our customers to utilize the following link in updating access numbers, email account settings, and dialup account settings. NONE of the updates provided will harm your computer system in anyway, nor will you lose current email.
http://dialerupdates.ndunet.com/pepperlink/setup.exe
When you get online, please copy/paste the above link into a new browser window |
It will ask if you wish to run or save the file = ask it to RUN |
It will begin a download process into a temporary file - this is fine. It will jump from 2 to 10 to longer minutes remaining, but it is actually about a 5 minute download process. |
There will be a "security warning" at this juncture - just after the download is complete. This download IS in fact safe. Press 'RUN' |
After downloading, a NEW pop up window will appear, asking for your name, dialup username and password, and email account, and to select a new access number = please be aware that, while the system pulls all numbers in the same area code, NOT all the numbers are local = Please make sure you are using a number that is a 7-digit only access number, for your area. Do not allow the dialer program to choose a number that includes a 1+area code number. Pick your access number, and follow the instructions on the screen. |
At this point, you should close all open connections, and allow the new connection to take place. The system will put a "globe" icon on your desktop, labeled "Pepperlink" = this will become your new connection. |
If you are using any mail client (program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.), the settings for connecting to our email systems will have been updated as well and you may continue to use this program as you have done in the past. |
If you use our "check mail" link from our home page, you may continue to do so. In the next week or so, the look of this system will change; however the functionality will remain. |
